Phishing

Card details, banking logins, and wallet credentials captured through a convincing fake page or message.

How Phishing Works

The mechanics matter — how you were compromised determines what can still be recovered.

01
A Message, a Link, a Login Page That Looks Right.

Phishing starts with something ordinary — a text about a delayed parcel, an email from your bank, a call from someone who already knows your account details. The page you land on is a copy of the real one. What you enter goes straight to whoever built it.

What an Investigation Involves

Astronreturn Investigations

We start by establishing when and how the compromise happened — which message, which page, which credential. That fixes the timeline and tells us what left your accounts afterwards.

From there we trace the outbound payments: which accounts received them, which processors or exchanges they passed through, and where they came to rest.

Our Process

Four stages, in the order we work them.

Compromise Timeline

We establish exactly when and how access was obtained, and what it allowed.

Every transfer, card charge, and withdrawal that followed, traced to its destination.

Domains, hosting, and sending addresses — often linking your case to others.

Findings documented so your bank, card issuer, or the police can act.

In their own words

“I gave the details away myself, which made it worse. Nobody made me feel stupid about it. They just started working out where the money went.”

Our Client

"My card issuer had already refused once. With the report showing where each charge landed, the second attempt went differently."

Andreas Germany

They found the same fake site had been used on other people. That changed how seriously the police took my report."

Rachel United States

"One approval and the wallet was empty. They traced it to an exchange within the week and told me exactly what to send them."

Common Questions

Not necessarily. Being deceived into authorising something is treated differently from authorising it freely, and many banks and card schemes have specific provisions for it. Whether a claim succeeds often comes down to how well the deception is documented — which is the part we can help with.

Later is harder, not hopeless. Card chargeback windows are limited and worth checking immediately, but payment trails stay traceable long after the deadline for a dispute has passed, and the evidence still supports a police report or a claim.

Yes, always, and ideally before contacting us. We work alongside law enforcement reporting rather than replacing it, and our reports are built to be usable by investigators.

No. Funds are moved between accounts and platforms specifically to break the trail, and following those chains is the ordinary work of an investigation rather than an obstacle to it.

Take it to your bank or card issuer to support a dispute, to a regulator or ombudsman, to the police as part of a report, or to a solicitor if you're pursuing a civil claim. It's built to be used by all four.
